The Notorious IBE.  31 July, 1-2 August. City of Heerlen, The Netherlands. 

The Notorious IBE is a true festival. A place to experience music, dance, art, fashion and cultural programs related to hiphop dance culture.

Each year the festival comes to life through a collaboration of partners from the worldwide community. At the festival they curate their own programs, invite artists and cater to their own following.

The Notorious IBE is a festival where insiders and outsiders of the culture feel at home. The programs are accessible, progressive and focused on participation creating a setting in which all levels, ages, tradition and innovation go hand in hand.

As an initiator and promoter of hiphop and urban dance in The Netherlands The Notorious IBE has been contributing to the diversity of the Dutch cultural landscape since 1998. The festival offers the authenticity, creativity and innovation that new generations are looking for. The festival presents hiphop culture in a diverse and progressive way contributing to a complete view and sharp image of the culture.

PRACTICAL INFO

IBE takes place at outdoor and indoor locations in the city center.
The festival location for GPS navigation is: Bongerd, Heerlen.

TICKETS & MORE

Outdoor locations like the food court and  hip hop market are free of charge.

For indoor locations you need a festival wristband to enter.

You must exchange your E-ticket for a wristband at the Ticket Desk before you can enter the festival locations:

Your festival wristband must be worn at all times.

All attendees are subject to search upon entry.

Ins and outs will be allowed.

WHERE TO STAY?

FESTIVAL SLEEPOVER

Guests bring their own sleeping bag and pillow. There are showers and restrooms available.

IBE HOTELS

IBE offers overnight packages for its visitors.  The hotel + tickets packages will be online from mid March 2020


HOTELS, HOSTELS, CAMPING

The city of Heerlen is situated in Limburg, which is the southernmost state in The Netherlands. The area is bordered by Germany, the city of Aachen at 25km and bordered by Belgium. This touristic area is full of hotels, hostels and campings: Please check here

FOOD & DRINKS

It’s not allowed to bring food and drinks into the festival site.
There will be bar areas at the festival that sell both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Food trucks at the Food Court offer a variety of meals and snacks.

It’s important to drink plenty of water during the day especially if it’s warm.
It’s also easy to miss putting some real food in your stomach when you’re busy running around.

CAMERAS

PHOTOGRAPHING / FILMING

Photographing and filming for publication in professional context or broadcasting purposes is not allowed without authorization from the festival. No authorization is needed when photographing and filming for private use.

SECURITY

Security will be positioned at the entrances of all festival locations.  Follow their instructions at all times.
The security are there for your protection and in case you’ll need their help.

DISABILITY ENTRY

All festival locations are accessible to persons with disabilities.
Please notify the Ticket Desk staff or security upon festival entry in case assistance is needed.  

LOST & FOUND

There will be a “Lost & Found” at the IBE Ticket Desk.
You can return lost items such as keys, wallets, phones directly to the IBE Ticket Desk.
Please only return found items to the IBE Ticket desk directly. Do not hand them over to random staff or security guards.

Visit the IBE Ticket Desk to inquire after your missing items.

VISA

 The period for requesting an IBE invitation letter for VISA ends on June 1st.

WRISTBANDS

You may not enter indoor festival locations without a valid ticket or wristband.

AGE LIMIT

All ages are welcome. Children age 4 and under are free to enter.

EAR PROTECTION

Ear plugs and noise canceling devices are advised, especially for children.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

It is not permitted to bring your alcoholic beverages to the festival venues.

For those of you over 18 there are bar areas serving alcohol on the festival site.

Due to Dutch alcohol laws you are not allowed to take or consume alcoholic drinks outside of the festival areas.

Following the Dutch Alcohol Licensing and Catering Act it is forbidden to sell alcohol to persons under 18 years.

Bar personnel has the right to ask for I.D. to anybody that appear to be under age 25.

DRESS CODE

First and foremost at The Notorious IBE we like our visitors to dress “Fresh”.

Look your best and honor the “Fashion” aspect of hiphop culture in every possible way.

But beware and bring suitable clothing and try to bring a jacket or sweater in case of rain.

ATM

There are ATM’s located around the festival area. Foreign currency can be exchanged at the Heerlen train station.

TOILETS

Flushable sink toilets can be found at the indoor locations of the festival.
Portable toilets will be placed near the outdoor areas.  Toilets are indicated on the festival map.
